Unexpected Christmas saviour.

Image via here

As I was having a horrible holiday due to events I shall not speak of, salvaging what was left of Christmas joy came in unexpected form. Yes, that's right. Nerf guns. Me and my sister had recently bought Maverick Nerf guns, and what could be better than a grown woman and a pretty much grown woman chasing each other around the house shooting foam darts to bring back the holiday spirit =)

Aussie Invasion?

We've all heard of a British invasion but an Aussie Invasion? As I was walking through the mall, I noticed Australian based stores that we don't give enough credit to:

Uggs are probably the most well known comfortable and warm shoes that have most likely gotten many of us through some chilly weather. For me, my Uggs are an essential pair of shoes to take wherever I go. They are my go-to shoes for Black Friday, my grocery runs, bikini caroling (oh college =P), or just simply trying to keep my toes from freezing off. Australia, pure brilliance =)

I have recently discovered Cotton On in a nearby mall. I had always wondered what was inside this store but always passed it by. One day, I got adventurous and decided to take a look. I was rewarded with Cotton On's wide selection of affordable clothing. They had a plethora of basics which one should always stock up on (you know, that simple shirt that you can just throw on in the morning, yet still look fabulous in with such little effort). The best part of all was their sale section with prices ranging from $5-$20. Who can turn down a $5 shirt?? Australia, you're amazing =)

Diva was also another recent discovery for me. This cute, little jewelry store had accessories for every occasion. The jewelry is divided into different themes that fit every personality of every person whether you are a rocker-chick or a girly-girl. You've done it again, Australia =)

Gilly Hicks is another rewarding discovery with beach-like wear reminiscent of stores like Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch. They have a lovely collection of lingerie that line the walls of the store with many different styles for you to choose from. Their fitting room is like sitting inside a lounge with your own couch and dresser of bras to try on. Australia, you never fail to impress.

So there's some cool things that have come from an down under that you should definitely check out. I think it's right to say Thank you, Australia.

Falling back in love...

Image via Photobucket

So at 3 a.m. last night (or this morning, whichever you prefer =P), I was laying in bed listening to Dashboard Confessional. In my tranquil state, I realized how much I loved this band. The soothing acoustic guitars, and smooth voice of lead singer Chris Carrabba puts me in an unbelievable calm like a baby to a lullaby. Oh yes, Dashboard Confessional has gotten me through many a bad day. How I love music.

Happy LOVE Day!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Have you decided what you're going to wear on this special day with that special someone? This year, I'm going to try a more laid back, soft elegance look. Beauty doesn't always have to be pain =) Here are a few pieces I found charming and perfect for a comfortable, chic look.

I found this beautifully simple top from Twelve by Twelve, a line from Forever 21 for only $22.00! A simple shirt with an adorable bow makes a perfect match <3

What's an outfit without accessories? Here's a strand of pearly whites from Forever 21 to glam up a simple shirt of dress for only $10.80 <3

Hope this sparked some ideas for your Valentine's Day plans! Have a great weekend and Valentine's day

XOXO

2 excitingly random occurences

Two randomly exciting things happened to me today. I was walking to the library from the gym and saw a possum defecating by a stairwell in the rain. I've never seen a real live possum before. The possum looked kind of cute, so I tried to take a picture using my phone. That didn't work out since the lighting was bad. Too bad I didn't have my camera. I felt kind of bad for the little thing siting there in the rain, but then again it probably had rabies. Second randomly exciting thing that happened today: I was just brushing my teeth right before I started writing this post, and a small bubble floated out from the foam of my toothpaste. That's never happened to me before, and I'm not going to lie, I was rather amused. Enough of the randomness. Good night!
